When I post something on Facebook, the featured image never shows up. I’ve searched for answers and I’ve had no luck. Here is the message I get when putting my link in the sharing debugger:
The ‘fb:app_id’ property should be explicitly provided, Specify the app ID so that stories shared to Facebook will be properly attributed to the app. Alternatively, app_id can be set in url when open the share dialog.

I’m not good at code so I need an idiot proof way to fix this. Thank you in advanced!

  • Are you using any plugins for this?

By default, WordPress doesn’t include OpenGraph metadata that specifies what image should be used on Facebook or other sites.

I would recommend checking out and using Yoast SEO plugin, it will improve your website’s SEO and it does include OpenGraph metadata.
