    Hi Dan,
Unfortunately, Embedded images cannot be used as featured images because of the iframe that is used to deliver those images.

Thanks for your answer, Is there any workaround?

    Hi Dan,
No, there is not at this time. The iframe contains contains Getty Images and photographer attribution that cannot be removed, among other things. This is largely what allows us to offer these images via Embed legally and for free. Support for Featured Image within WordPress is something we have talked about and may consider and look into further in the future but it’s not in the works right now. Sorry I don’t have another solution to offer up! If you are interested in licensing imagery the Featured Image functionality is supported from the plugin, as you saw in the other thread.
Hope that provides a bit more context. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks Karissa,
My client was so excited about embedding the Getty images in his site, but not being able to utilize the featured image option will not make this option feasible for him.

I hope support for this will come in the future.
Do you have a licensing plan for non-profits which can withhold lower costs?

    Dan
