I want the featured image to only show on the front page and not the individual posts. It appears the only way to get this is to choose “blog only” which confuses me a bit. Is there a way to set this in the customizer?
Some featured images (I use as a default) are words only. What size should the image be or what settings, so that the entire image is seen on the front page, both the smaller listing and as the main (top) post?
    Just bought pro, great theme.

Thanks for using Mission News (and upgrading)!

The Featured Images will display on the blog/archives as well as the post. If you want the Featured Images to display on the front page but not on the posts then “blog only” is the correct option to select.

In the Customizer (Appearance > Customize), you can set this option in the Show/Hide Elements section. That will affect all posts at once. The option in the post editor is best used only when you want to override the Customizer setting.

Oh and for the Featured Image size, they display in their natural dimensions on the posts as well as for the large image on the homepage. For the smaller Featured Images on the homepage, these are displayed in a 4:3 aspect ratio.
