Featured Image?

With query wrangler create a new query of the “widget” type.
Change the Row Style to ‘Fields’
Under Fields click add fields and add Image Attachment. Once it’s added click on the Image Attachment link & configure what size you want image to display & whether or not it should link to the post.

Aside from customizing the number of posts under posts per page & maybe limiting the type of posts via Filter you are done.

Actually, the Image Attachment works only if the featured image is attached to the post (if it was uploaded into the post).
If you use an image from the gallery, as featured, the Image Attachment doesn’t retrieve it.

At least it worked this way for me.

Also, I just learned, if you have multiple images attached and you trim it to show ONE, it shows the last image uploaded. That makes sense. However I think there should be a way to add the Featured Image as a field, for those cases where more images were added afterwards.
