    I’m on WP 6.6.1
    Plugin Version 2.12.0

A while back I asked about a test to see if featured image has alt text. You have now added that. Thank you ??!!

But sometimes it fails the test even when I have alt text. I currently also have the default check for requiring a featured image. That works just fine.

My process to add a featured image is to click the set featured image button:

I then drag and drop my image into the gallery. (This has been successful in the past and is now) I then type in the alt text and click the set featured image button to save it.

The problem is that the test doesn’t always pass. If it does not, I open up the featured image again. The alt text is there. I then go back to editing and suddenly the test passes.

So it does work eventually. But we shouldn’t have to go in twice.

Please let me know if I can do any testing for you.

    Thanks for this excellent plugin!

    Hi @bhkh

    Thanks for your detailed report.

I was wondering, could you provide any specific steps to replicate the issue? Or is it an intermittent problem that occurs randomly without a clear way to reproduce it?

    Thanks,

I reported in as much detail as I know. However I publish daily, so now I will keep very close record of exactly each click I make. I will report back if I find a pattern or not.

    Thank you!

@bhkh Thank you, yes that will be very helpful for our investigation.

OK, I made three posts all using above procedure and got the same results. If you need a screen cast I could do that. Please give me a way to send it to you directly if you want one.

@bhkh Yes please share some screen cast if it’s possible. You could use service like Loom or upload manually to Google Drive or Dropbox.

Thanks. I know how to share a screen cast. For privacy reasons I don’t want to share here. How to contact you?

Hi @bhkh. Thanks for using PublishPress Checklists. Sorry, one of the limitations with the free support is that it’s all done in public here on the WordPress support forums.

    Ah, I see.

Here is a screen cast. I have used this exact process for the last four days with the exact same results.

Please let me know if you need more. I really appreciate having this check for alt text and would love to see it working smoothly.

@bhkh Thanks for the video. It seems I could replicate it locally. I’ve created a GitHub issue on this one so our developer could improve it: https://github.com/publishpress/PublishPress-Checklists/issues/743

    Thanks for your report.
