Featured Image Blurry

The photo files selected for our Featured Image with the Features plugin is displaying as blurred. We are using Canvas from WooThemes. PHP is 5.3. This is what we have tried so far.
– Image upload size: 500px x 500px
– Canvas > Settings > Dynamic Images Thumbnail: 300px x 300 px
– Settings > Media > Thumbnail Settings: 300px x 300px with “Crop thumbnail to exact dimensions” checked.
– Ran the Regenerate Thumbnail Plugin (both https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/ and https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/thumbnails-regenerate/.These settings are still being ignored and images remain blurry.
