Featured Image Causing Landmark Violation (ADA Compliancy)

The header image (featured image) is causing an ADA violation. I need to add a landmark role to the header image. Where would I go and to add it? Since the site is for special needs, it needs to be ADA Compliant. Thanks for your help!
