Featured Image Display

In the single.php file, you could find:

<div class="featured-media">
and add
style="display:none;"

to read:
<div class="featured-media" style="display:none;">

Note that this will remove the featured image from ALL single post pages.

Remove in single.php the whole item after the elseif in “gallery”. Make sure your page is not cached or something.

Did both of the fixes recommended above. Featured image is still appearing at top of the post. Page is not cached. Other recommendations?

There are many occurences of the div <div class=”featured-media”> you have to put the display:none on each one of them and it works.
