Featured Image function has disappeared

  • Hi. I have been using Colormag for our small karate club for some years now. Today I tried to create a new post, but there was no option to add a ‘Featured Image’. (Usually option is accessible in the tools on the right hand side of the screen.) My older posts all have ‘Featured Images’, but, try as I may, I cannot seem to get a featured image option in any new post. Perhaps, linked to this is the fact that when I select ‘Widgets’ from the WP dashboard dropdown menu, I get a large number of error messages for widgets, including errors listed for ‘Featured Image’. I have re-updated my WordPress to the latest version, and all plugins (none new) are up to date. Any help will be valued. Kind regards from Cape Town, South Africa

    I have subsequently checked two other websites that I manage, and in both of these the ‘Featured Image’ function is operating normally, so I must assume that my problem described above has something to do with the Colormag theme.

    To fix the errors that appear in the widget area, you will need to use the classic widgets plugin. Here is the plugin link: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/classic-widgets/.

    If that did not fix, I suspect one of the plugins you’re using might be causing the problem, so please try deactivating all the plugins one by one and check if the problem resolves.
