Featured image icon

    Hope this will be the right thread to ask something like this ??
    I have a Tracjs theme and when I post an article it shows an image of it but I want some of the articles to be standing out.

    I would like an image or a text displayed over the featured image of an article. So for example I could put a little banner/box/… in the upper right corner of the image stating “HOT” or “NEW” or something like it. We post a lot of news articles every day and we don’t have time to put it manually in Photoshop etc for every image, so I’m hoping there is a plugin or something for it, because as far as I searched I couldn’t find any.

    Adding that functionality will require a lot of customization since you’ll need to add the “NEW” text to the site and style it and also add a way to turn it on from the admin. If you want to go that route, I can point you in the right direction.

    Otherwise, there are some clever solutions that you could start using right away. You could add the phrase to the beginning or end of a post title like this:

    An Amazing Blog Post [HOT]
    NEW – An Amazing Blog Post

    Or, using a custom excerpt, you could add it to the beginning of the excerpt:

    NEW – This is the excerpt text etc…

    I am looking for this functionality too!

    If you added a “NEW” label to a post, would you want it to stay on the post forever? Or, would you want it to disappear after newer posts come out, or after a certain number of days/hours?

    If this is something a lot of Tracks users want, then I will definitely consider adding it as a feature. I would love to hear any ideas you have for this feature.
