Featured Image in Uploader Broke

Hello,

So my wordpress 3 blog….. decided to break today…. I use the “Featured Image” option in the image upload function of WordPress and when I went to go make a post today the Use as featured image option was missing from the post editor and also when I tried to insert a image via the uploader it to was missing the “use as feature image option”

I have made no changes to my installation ….. I even tried restoring to a backup ( I make backups daily and weekly automatically) and nothing…. the option just totally went bye bye.

Anyone know how to troubleshoot this?
