Featured Image not appearing on social share

That’s not relevant; when you view your post in the debugger, does it show an image? Did you try clicking the “rescrape” button?

Yes, and yes.

And the featured image in now working on site. But I’m curious as to why it took HOURS for the image to cache.
Also when I upload images, sometimes it doubles/replicates images. I’m wondering if the two issues are related somehow.

Facebook is a law unto itself.

So that means I just have to put up with the problem?

Any ideas re the dupicating of images? It’s going to eat up all of my space in no time.

So what I’m receiving from debugging my latest post:

The provided ‘og:image’ properties are not yet available because new images are processed asynchronously. To ensure shares of new URLs include an image, specify the dimensions using ‘og:image:width’ and ‘og:image:height’ tags.

How would I include specify those? I looked on the fb, but it doesn’t explain in detail.

I haven’t seen a plugin that outputs those OG: tags.

So do you have a suggested solution?

What do you mean by that? The site looks OK on a couple of my computers.

Have no image when going to share. (The latter was posted 8 HOURS ago).

I believe there must be some disconnect between my site and FB…

Usng the facebook debugger, I don’t see that you’re presenting an og:image tag. Are you using any SEO plugins?

Try installing Yoast SEO and pay attention to it’s social sharing settings.

And, with respect to that first link, GROSS!

I’m trying to avoid plugins if possible, as my site seems to be quite fragile with them. Is there another way to present an og:image?

If not, I can go ahead with this, but just wanted to check first ??
