Hi, I am using Jetpack to show related articles and all is working fine. Except for one article, of which the featured image is not showing. Below settings are all toggled on:

    Show related content after posts
Highlight related content with a heading
Show a thumbnail image where available

If you scroll to the bottom of this post, you will find the related post “In the Age of Trust, ‘trust score’ is the KPI you need”. The link is there, but the featured image is missing. Images of all other related posts are displaying correctly.

I found this support thread, but unfortunately it does not seem to provide a solution for this situation.

    Hi there,

If I look at that related post in the browser inspector I can see an image link, https://i0.wp.com/jochemvandrimmelen.nl/wp-content/uploads/SustainableX_articles_age_of_trust.jpg?resize=350%2C200&ssl=1, but viewing that link in my browser it gives a 400 error.

The image file itself at https://jochemvandrimmelen.nl/wp-content/uploads/SustainableX_articles_age_of_trust.jpg appears fine, though, so it looks like it’s a problem with the cached version in our CDN.

I’ve scheduled a full sync for your site. Please give that around 24 hours to complete, then check if the image appeared. If not, re-upload that featured image to your media library with a slightly modified file name, and sent the new version as the featured image on the post and see if that makes it reappear.

Note that Related Post content also gets cached, so it can take up to 24 hours after you re-upload the image before you’ll see any effect, or possibly only once you publish your next post after doing that.

Hi @kokkieh , many thanks for your prompt reply and response! I’ll check tomorrow to see how the sync worked out. Cheers, Jochem

@kokkieh I’m not sure what the problem is, but I still don’t see the featured image. I emptied the browser history, but that didn’t work out. Any idea what else I could try?

I’m currently seeing featured images for all three related posts. Are you seeing the same?

That is curious @kokkieh and @supernovia . I still don’t see the image, despite clearing all browser history. Here’s a link to a screenshot of what’s being displayed on my end:

It’s definitely working for me too: https://d.pr/i/iWAD8Q

First, please make sure that your browser is up to date: https://browsehappy.com/

If it is not, please try updating your browser or switching to a different browser.

If it is, please do these two things:

    1. Try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies.

    2. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.

Please let us know how each step goes for you, and which browser (and version of) you’re using if you’re still having trouble.

@macmanx @supernovia Sorry for my late reply. Unfortunately the image still isn’t showing. I cleared my cache several times, updated my browser and tried another browser too (Chrome and Firefox). I only have two plugins running that I can’t do without: McAfee and Roboform. What else might be the problem?

Hm, I don’t see the image just like you in your screenshot. Have you tried what @kokkieh mentioned before?

re-upload that featured image to your media library with a slightly modified file name, and sent the new version as the featured image on the post and see if that makes it reappear.

    I think this should help.

@fresatomica You were right. I replaced the image, but failed to use a different file name. This time I did rename the file, and the featured image is now showing correctly. Thanks for the heads-up!
