Featured Image not showing on social media

  • Hi there ??
    When I share links to my products on social media , it does not show the featured image , but instead shows a copy of my logo or one of the other 2 images that show on my websites homepage .
    Is there some CSS that can be copy/pasted in or anything that can fix this
    I have 900 products on my website so hopefully there is a way to do this as a blanket fix

  • Hi,

    For example, if you share your post onto facebook, you will need a plugin that will print facebook open graph tags in the HTML source code header. Facebook will need these tags in order to know your content and featured image URL …. etc.

    Perhaps Yoast’s SEO plugin can help you.

    I have installed the plug in but the pictures still arent showing on social media when i share a direct link to a product
    is there something i might be missing in the setup ?

    Hi,

    If you are referring to facebook, you need to use the following online tool ( need to login facebook ) to clear the cache data fetched by facebook.
    https://www.facebook.com/login.php?next=https%3A%2F%2Fdevelopers.facebook.com%2Ftools%2Fdebug%2Fog%2Fobject%2F

    Use the tool to make facebook fetch new data from your website blog post. Your blog post needs to have a featured image.
    Once the fetched data is correct, your sharing will be correct.

    is there any difference between a blog post and a product post in terms of how they will appear on facebook? I want the product picture t show with the link on facebook ??

    I have run the cache link you sent me , and it works if i run the cache clear on the product url individually but it doesnt work as a blanket approach for the 900 products i have ..
    is there any option to bulk fix the entire website?
