Featured image Not Showing on Whatsapp

    Hi there, does anybody knows why the featured image doesn′t show on whatsapp? It works on Fb though. I have tried uploading an image that is 256*256 pixels and 50 kb as suggested but nothing seems to work. Any help deeply appreciated. Also I have deactivated all the plugins and changed themes just in case but not working either…

    The image is actually displaying on WhastApp, at least on my el cheapo Android phone. But it’s pitch black!

    And the reason seems to be that WhatsApp is unable to display the transparent image you used.

    How do I know? I downloaded homepage’s og:image file (named: Swap-My-Van-Logo-Moto-Whatsapp.png) from your website and below is how the image appears in the IrfanView image editor on Windows.

    As you can see in the image below, it’s completely black: the white outline is there because I hit CTRL + A to select the image. Of course, other image editors can open the alpha channel just fine, so the image can be seen properly in those editors.

    My recommendation: add a background color to the PNG file (ie make it non-transparent), or simply save the image as a JPG file. And note that I’m referring to the image used as the “Featured Image” for the homepage, not the one used in the header as the site’s logo.

    Hi again George and thank you for your time. This is very confusing; before, when I haven′t installed the Yoast SEO, the imaged showed also pitch black. Now, I changed what you suggested, I added a white background to the image and changed it to jpg just to be sure, but it is still not working. Darn! Any other ideas would be very welcome.

    Hello once more. Great news, somehow it started working, it took a while for some reason but now the image is showing, thanks a lot for your assistance. ??
