Featured Image not showing while sharing in whatsapp

    Hi,

    While sharing a blog post link via whatsapp, the featured image is not showing. Its working fine with facebook, telegram etc. I have updated everything in yoast plugin settings. What could be done to fix this?

    I have issue with only one blog right now. All other blogs are working fine

    @abhilashrs We understand that you’re having problem with Whatsapp preview but only on one blog post. We understand that this could be frustrating, so let’s get to the bottom of what’s going on here!

    We expect few more information:

    1. Clear all your caching from your theme, plugin, server, CDN like CloudFlare or browser. If you are not sure how to clear caching from theme/plugin please speak to those authors. If you want to clear cache from the server, please speak to your host provider. To clear the cache from a browser use this guide: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-clear-my-browsers-cache/.

    2. Reupload the featured image. Try to upload different image for instance and see if that works. After that reupload the actual image again and check the Whatsapp thumbnail.

    We are not using any caching or optimizing plugins. Also the server doesn’t have cache.

    I have deleted the previous blog (which is not working) and updated a new one. Its working good and I haven’t updated the SEO part. While updating Yoast SEO fields the og image issue will occur.

    We looked at the relevant page source code and can confirm that Yoast SEO is generating all the necessary social open graph meta (obviously og:image) correctly as expected. However, we are not sure why WhatsApp isn’t showing the image when sharing the relevant page. You may want to reach out to the WhatsApp community support to see if they can shed some light on this.
