featured image of my posts are missing from everything

I’m test sharing a post with email, twitter, linkedin and facebook.
The featured image is missing from all except linkedin.
with Email, Twitter and Facebook, sharing only shows the post title and the URL to the post.
On Linkedin I get the image but the image size is too big so the suroundings of the image are cut off.

I’ve checked the source of the post and there is a meta tag that contains the image path:

what am I doing wrong and how can I fix it so that featrued image is added to the share for all?
