• Hi everyone,

I have recently installed Dyad 2 and have been exploring the Settings. I really like the look and feel of the demo page, specifically (1) featured image of each post showing on the Home page and (2) the yellowish-orange coloured background colour of ‘Read More’ text. However, I am not able to locate the relevant setting to enable these two features. I am able to get the featured image working on the page of the post but the same image is not showing up on the Home page.

Kindly advise. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

  • Hello there,

    Many thanks for reaching out.

    (1) featured image of each post showing on the Home page

This is the featured content area, please see how to set this up here: https://wordpress.com/theme/dyad-2 > scroll down to the “Featured Content Slider”

    (2) the yellowish-orange coloured background colour of ‘Read More’ text.

This can be seen in the colour scheme of the site, which can be found via Customize > Background and colours.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you for the information.

This is the featured content area, please see how to set this up here: https://wordpress.com/theme/dyad-2 > scroll down to the “Featured Content Slider”

I understand that slider is the one that is on the top section of the page featuring posts which have been tagged to do so. I am afraid I was not referring to the top section.

On the demo page, you should see an image on the left of “This is a sticky post” and another image on the left of “Heirloom tomata salsa”. These are the feature images of the respective posts.

To clarify, the issue I am facing is that the featured image of the posts are not displaying on the Home page, below the slider.

This can be seen in the colour scheme of the site, which can be found via Customize > Background and colours.

I have tried changing the colours there. While the colour in other parts of the page change accordingly to my selection, the setting is not affecting “Read More”. This text currently does not have a background colour box and is showing with an underline instead.
Is there a setting that I have missed to convert the underlined text to one with a background colour instead?

    Hope the above clarifies.

Are you using any sort of caching plugin, or do you see a “Clear/Purge Cache” button in your Dashboard or admin bar? If so, would you please try clearing the cache?

Note: You do not need to install a caching plugin at this point just to clear a cache you don’t have. If you don’t have a caching plugin or a way to clear a server-level cache, just say so. ??

I do not have plugin installed for the site. Is ‘Clear/Purge Cache’ under Tools > Plugins or another menu branch? I do not seem to have this option or a way to clear server-level cache.

    Hello there,

You would need to install a clear cache plugin as seen here: https://en-gb.www.ads-software.com/plugins/search/clear+cache/

You can also reach out to the hosting provider to help clear that cache.

    I hope this helps.

It looks like I need to upgrade to Business Plan in order to install plugins, and I am not ready for the upgrade yet.

My site is currently hosted on WordPress. Is there a self-help feature for us to clear cache on WordPress? I do not seem to be able to locate it under WP Admin.

Thank you for all the help so far.

    Hello there,

What is the site URL exactly?

    Many thanks in advance.

My apologies for the delay in reply! I was bogged down by other events.

The site URL is https://www.tamrieltavern.com. It has not been launched yet and is in the early stages of me understanding the WP theme.

    Hope this information helps.

    Thanks for that.
Things do not work the same way on WordPress.com as they do on www.ads-software.com. It’s best if you reach out directly to WordPress.com’s support for further help with this: https://wordpress.com/help/contact :).
