I am running a website using penscratch, which I love, and each of the individual pages has the option of a featured image, which I’ve selected, but they don’t show up on the site – seemingly overridden by the main header image. If I get rid of the main header image, there are no images at all.

I’ve looked through this forum and the answer seems to be to create a child theme and/or fiddle with the CSS.

My question is why give the option of a featured image if it doesn’t actually work? Unless I’ve missed something…

I’m not massively technical (think a little knowledge is a dangerous thing) and I switched the website from static html pages to wordpress when I took it over exactly so I wouldn’t need to be massively technical.

Featured images in Penscratch are displayed on the blog page, which you can see on the demo:

If you scroll down you’ll see a photo of a mug of raspberries below the title “Excerpt from a childhood memory” – that’s a featured image.

I took a peek at your site at bellingdon.com but I’m not sure where your blog page lives. Your blog page is the page set to display your latest posts in the Customizer under “Static Front Page” > Posts page.
