• Hi, I’m a novice so I’m wondering if there’s a decently simple fix for ridding my featured image from appearing on each of my blog’s posts.

The image is used and featured on main page under the menu but then when you click read more, it shows the featured image again and then the thumbnails that make up the post.

Is there a way to get rid of the featured image from the blog posts only while still keeping it on the main page?

    i.e.
Navigation reads: Events. Click events page which has an image of a calendar and text with read more. When you open each of the posts within that page, the calendar should not appear with each post and their respective images.

    Thanks bunches!

Okay, one more time for clarity so I’m not confusing you and then confusing myself.

On the home page, navigation Lifestyle that goes to Not-So Couch potato. there’s a picture of a person holding their love handles. When you click read more, you open the page, it’s that same picture of the person with the love handles in the article and a few other unique images.

Do I have to have the love handle picture that was featured in the post? I thought earlier you said ‘no’ and gave me the code to put in css which I did and nothing happened. As soon as I open Appearance – Editor, it’s on the style.css which is where I put the code and nothing happened.

    like I said before:

very odd, I can do a preview of it in firebug, I add display-none and the image goes away. This is a first for me. Was there only one css file?

I have no explanation of why you don’t get the change. It sounds like you did it right, that code should be the last thing you see on style.css.

To the best of my knowledhge, the way wp is set up is the featured thumnail, if selected as a featured image, will appear on the full post and the excerpt.

If you want to only have the featured thumb on the excerpt, but not on the post, you can’t use featured images. if you do, you have to change code somewhere to get the result you want.

css is what we’re trying, we could also try php. Do you have access to the template files other than the style.css? I don’t know if you can edit files for a premium theme..? are they editible?

You know I don’t know. : | I’ll just live with a work-around since it’s not the end of the world. I do appreciate your time and help.

As you’ll see for like the Feb 2012 – Looove Edition post. I’ve learned how to add a line in between the featured image and the rest of the actual posts.

For some reason having the pic repeated was bothering me, but it could just be my magazine design mentality that says that’s a “no-no”.

    ??

I hoped for a plugin to accomplish this, sooo many request it. I asked in the forum but got no responce:(

hope it works out, good luck:)

Would be nice. For people like me who know very little and next to nothing, there should be a plugin for everything, like Android apps. Cause the idea of the template seems right, but when you get into it, it’s a lot more complicated if you’re not code-savvy like you geniuses on the other end. ??

There’s sooo many things I’ve got to “fix” with this template and they all seem soooo very simple (like the fact that home page has 4 columns by 3 rows instead of the 4 x 1 like the template shows).

Been working on this since NY’s day and I’m not launching until it makes sense. Thanks again, surely you’ll see me beg for assistance on other issues over the next few days.

there should be a plugin for everything

And who is going to create all of these plugins? If you really want a new plugin, try hiring someone to build it for you.

Build them and I’ll buy them. It’s under the same premise that I bought the template. Not all apps have to be free. They just need to work.

esmi’s point well taken. but people do make thousands of free plugins, so it always suprises me a bit when there’s a poular problem that’s not addressed. But these are noob issues. I imagine plugin writters would rather do somehthing more exotic. I know I would if I could.
