I have searched through everything and cannot find a solution to this…

I’ve even tried to view the source of my previous wp.COM (www.tinydisguises.com look under the “news” section, that is what I want the post thumbnail TO look like) to see if I can find the code that dose this!

I am trying to get the featured images that appear above my blog posts on my designated posting page to NOT be the full size image but the automatically cropped rectangle they are supposed to be!

Dose anyone have a code for this? I am not very good at writing this FTP style of code or whatever…

Been searching google and the forums for another few hours… still nothing.

I’m frustrated by this as well. I sometimes have an image for a post that is smaller than ideal for the featured image, and I would love it to just go ahead and zoom in to crop an image that will fill the slider with the same cropped image you see as the slider thumbnail (or thereabouts, I can see it’s a tad different). I suppose I might end up with a slightly pixelated image, but some way to get a smaller image to fit better into the slider would be great. If anyone has a trick (a way to edit the image) I would appreciate it.

I’m not talking about the slider… I don’t use the slider.

I am referring to the featured image for every post on my posts page.

Not to sound rude, just clarifying.

    I FIGURED IT OUT!

    Via this website:
    https://alienwp.com/documentation/oxygen-theme-documentation/

And THIS amazing plugin: (to use, after installing the plugin look under your TOOLS tab click regen. thumbnails then click the button… wait… BAM!)

Sorry. I thought it was the same thing. I figured out a workaround for what I was trying to do as well. ??

Urban Huntress, I’m curious what workaround did you use? I’m trying to fix the same issue of zooming in on images in the slider. Thanks!

I used the resize option in my image editor (it’s a pretty basic one called ACDsee for Pentax) that came with my camera. The image I was playing with was a short banner (long and skinny) so the height needed to be increased. My resize options let me retain the aspect ratio, so no worries there. The standard size of the slider image is 750px x 380px. Editing the height to 380 made the image a bit too pixelated, so I went with 250 which meant it still didn’t fill the whole slider, but the title was the right size and it looked a lot better. So, I just need to not be super lazy and adjust the small images before uploading them. ??
