  • You want to make the image smaller or bigger? Would you please elaborate your question? How you need it?
    Thanks

I am reporting a visual bug. Reflow refers to a change in the page layout. The expected behaviour is for the image to remain the same size (i.e. the final, full-bleed size) while loading rather than the elements moving around. Have you had a look at the demo page?

Yes, i look on demo page. Is that image is feature image or header image?

    Featured image, as stated.

Try by using header image. Go to Appearance > Customize > Header Image.

Thanks for trying but that’s not the issue. I might try to get in touch with the theme author (was hoping to here).

I’m pretty comfortable with HTML, CSS and PHP. Just wondering if anyone else noticed this bug or if it was intended and if anyone knew a fix before I spend the time working it out myself.

Hi drewkerr – I see the issue with the featured image on single posts on the Gazette demo and will bring it to our developers. I’ll keep you posted here.

Sorry for the delayed reply, our notification system wasn’t correctly set up for this theme.

    Howdy @drewkerr,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention!

Gazette uses jQuery to move the image and post/page title into the header area after the document has loaded, which is the jump you’re seeing. This avoids adding more complex logic to the header area and single post template to figure out where the post title should appear when a featured image is selected, since the markup is different for each case.

While I agree the jump is not pretty, we don’t consider it a bug. If you know you’ll always have featured images set for your posts, you can create a child theme to override this behavior in header.php and/or single.php.

    I hope this helps!

    Cheers,
    Caroline
