Featured Images in posts are too big. Media default settings were changed.

Images are so big now. They weren’t before. The featured image in a post and the gallery image. Recent changes I made include:
-deleted some of the plugins (wonder if maybe I deleted any that came with Gridsby)
-deleted all the images in my cPanel/uploads folder (as suggested by tech support in HostGator to lower disk space usage)
-installed and/or activated the suggested plugins (Contact Form 7, Simple Custom CSS, Shortcodes Ultimate, Advanced Custom Fields, Black Studio TinyMCE Widget, TinyMCE Advanced)
-deleted some posts and pages (wonder if I deleted some that came with the suggested plugins and/or theme)
-uninstalled and reinstalled Gridsby Theme but came back with same settings I put in before I uninstalled it.

At one point in the Media Settings the default settings had changed. The max width was 9999 for med and large sizes.

Hope this is enough information and I really hope someone knows how to fix it. I really love this theme and have searched for quite a while to find one that worked for me and this one is it. Thanks in advance!
