    Hi,

New to MH Magazine Lite, but not to WordPress itself. Finding it mostly intuitive. One issue:

The cropping of my images seems inconsistent on my static home page. See “New Teams & Articles” widget on the site.

Then, when navigating into the site, the featured images on some articles are cropped beyond recognition, such as here:

    https://funwhileitlasted.net/2018/10/25/1934-1955-norfolk-tars-baseball/

But in other articles, they show the full image with no problem, such as here:

    https://funwhileitlasted.net/2018/10/29/1969-portland-loggers-football/

These appear, to me, to be same or similar image dimensions. But the crops are handled very differently. (I.E., it’s not a matter or vertically formatted images vs. horizontally formatted).

Is there something I need to do in Settings or elsewhere in back-end to get my featured images looking consistent with no cropping?

    Thank you.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi Andy,

when you upload an image, WordPress will generate all necessary thumbnails and also crop images if necessary. The particular thumbnails are listed in the documentation.

In order to have consistent images on your site, you need to regenerate your thumbnails. Please also be aware that some of your uploaded images are too small. The featured image on posts needs to be at least 678 x 381px in size.

It’s also worth mentioning that uploading logos or images with lots of text as featured image usually isn’t a good idea as the text / logo very likely will be cropped once WordPress generates the thumbnails. You should upload regular photos / images instead, like it’s usually the case for online magazines.

For inspiration, you can see plenty examples of other user sites in our showcase.
