Featured Images not Displaying on Facebook Links

  • Look, this topic repeatedly comes up — and there appear to be no solutions. Most users of WordPress are not html programmers. Many of the responses I see are gobbledygook. Sharing your WP blog post to Facebook AND displaying either the featured image or the embedded image (not your website’s banner image) should be a FUNDAMENTAL function of a website and blog created with WordPress. It appears as though this issue is either being ignored or is beyond the capability of those who are creating and maintaining the WP system. Am I wrong? Which image is posted with your FB share should be a simple matter of checking a box: banner image, featured image, or embedded image. Where is the answer to this problem? Or am I forced to returned to Blogger, which I do not want to do?

  • I know it seems no one wants to correct this problem on either front (WP or FB)

    Aside from complaints here many are complaining on facebook after they claim its fixed! I now have to waste time and junk up my post with an addl image that FB will see. Featured images should appear period, I shouldn’t have to post a a small corner image on body of my post.

    Thi sis what happens when ppl “fix” things or “make them better”… they screw up everything
