Featured Images show up correctly AND in wrong places…

  • Hi, all –

    I’m running into an odd problem. I tried searching and haven’t seen anyone with a similar issue.

    I’ve got featured images up, and they are working fine and showing up the way I want them to in the blog’s list of posts.

    However, they are also inexplicably showing up on several other pages that are not directly connected (that I know of!) to the blog. I didn’t put them there, they just show up there.

    If I go to those pages and look at the text version of the page, I still don’t see the featured images showing up.

    Anyone know where I should look or how to stop this?

    https://salmonberry.ca/lisa-gibbons/ (featured images show up in smaller format at the bottom of her page, but are not showing up on the bottom of any of the other artist’s pages, but are showing up on the bottom of all her sub-pages that have her page as a parent.)

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    Esmi, and all –

    So I deactivated all but four of the plugins. Then before I deactivated those essential last plugins, I switched in live preview mode to the Twenty Fourteen and Twenty Thirteen themes. Without saving or activating them, the issue was gone in the live preview.

    I haven’t tried resetting the plugins folder yet. Is that step and/or deactivating those last four plugins worth it, if it seems to be a themes issue?

    Also, what should I try next, if it has to do with the theme? It seems weird that it is showing up on this one artist page, but not the other ones.

    For now I’m going to try switching to a new theme, saving, and switching back. That didn’t help. Other thoughts to try?
