    Hi,

    I created a post and added a featured image. The size and quality of this image is excellent (JPG, 5212×2932). Unfortunately the quality of the feature image in the preview of the post is really bad. Much compression. If I set the same image under the feature image in the post (added from the Mediathek) I don’t see this kind of compression.

    How can I prevent or change this kind of compression for feature images?

    Hi,

    If you’d like to increase the size of the featured images, please change the number (image width size) of the following line.

    functions.php line:51
    set_post_thumbnail_size( 800 );

    Hi Takao,

    the size is ok, but not the quality. If I’m in the editor the quality of all images is well, sharp! If I make a preview / release the post the quality is so bad. It is confusing that in the editor all is very sharp and in the preview not.

    Ok, I resolved the problem. Jetpack has the option “Speed up images and photos”. This changes the quality of all pictures on the website significantly. I deactivated the option. Now it looks good ??
