Sorry, not presently. This will be added in a future release.

I tried working around this by creating a “Featured” category, showing those via the “All” template, and showing the rest via “View All” – but noticed that it totally hides anything not in that category, even if I click the corresponding letter.

Sorry, can’t picture what you mean. can you share a link?

    Sure – https://prepvolleyball.com/camp-directory/

All I meant, was that I thought “View All” would show my entire directory (I have 4 total entries, 3 in the displayed category, which are the 3 showing), but it still only shows those in the specified category for this page.

I think the “Order Category” plugin is going to be my solution. Then I can create a Featured category to display certain entries above/before the non-“Featured” entries.

As an aside – the “make an organization name a link” checkbox isn’t doing anything. All my entries are Organizations, and the box is checked, and they are not active links. If I click the “make name link” box, then it works.

Sorry, still confused. I visited the page. I see the same three entries on both the “View All” page and the directory page. But yes, the “View All” will be subject to any limitation you add to the shortcode which is by design. The purpose being to allow the creation of multiple “virtual” directories on different pages on the site.

I’m not sure the Custom Category Order I do not think will be the solution you seek. It only the presentation order of the categories themselves, it does not group the entries that the categories are ordered in. I hope that makes sense.

As for the org links, that is in relation to when the entry is and individual. When an entry is an organization, the name link is what applies since that is the name of the entry. What you need to do is reenable the name link.

Re: the Custom Category Order extension – is that just an admin extension?

My goal is to create two tiers of entries to display on the frontend – featured and non-featured. I need the featured entries to appear in alpha order, before the non-featured entries.

Can I create two categories and use this extension, to achieve this?

re: Custom Category Order extension – is that just an admin extension?
No, it’ll change the order of how the categories are listed everywhere within Connections… what is does not do is group entries within the category order. It works pretty much like plugins that do the same for the WordPress categories.

Sorry, no, it does not work like that.

Ah, so it only affects how category names are displayed in widgets, admin, etc. Got it.

Is there a way to achieve what I need, using your plugin?

I need to be able to have 2 “tiers” of entries based on whether a client has paid or not. All Tier 1 entries need to display before Tier 2 in the actual directory, and each Tier needs to be ordered alpha.

EX: I am trying to copy this directory (which we developed in-house) – https://www.topdrawersoccer.com/search/?area=camp >> Pages 1-5 have the “Tier 1” entries ordered alpha (the first entry has space to it is pinned as #1). Then the “Tier 2” entries follow, starting on Page 5.

I know I need to upgrade the Connections template to have pagination.
