Featured Posts in Header not working anymore since Update

    Hey there folks,

    since your last update (or even the one before) the “featured post in header” option doesn’t work anymore. This one was pretty important for our blog, since it’s the onle way to see, which new articles we came up with.

    It’s the very last section of the themes customizer under Content Homepage > Featured Post (my translation, using WordPress in german in this case).

    Could you please check what’s going wrong there?

    Hi,
    Thanks for reporting your issue. I can’t reproduce the problem on my end.
    The featured post option is working fine when I check it in the customizer.
    Can you check that this is not related to a plugin in conflict with the theme ?

    Hey Nicolas,
    thanks for the answer. Unfortunately the slider is not working over here.
    I already tried deactivating ALL plugins, but that didn’t help.
    Could you maybe have a look over our page?

    Are you using a child theme ? If so try to deactivate it and re-try to display the featured posts.

    Yes, Hueman Child. Tried it, but still not working, seems to be a conflict with the main theme itself. Any other suggestions?

    Resolved. The category filter for the featured posts was set to a category with no regular WordPress posts.
    If you use a category filter for your featured posts, make sure that this category has at least one post.
    Also note that the featured posts displayed by Hueman can only be regular WordPress posts, not a custom post type.

    Unfortunately the matter’s not really resolved! The slider needs to show featured recipes (a custom post type) and it used to do so until the update.

    I seem to remember the former developer put some piece of code into functions.php, so the CPT Rezepte will be recognized:

    function custom_request($qs) {
	if(isset($qs['tag']) || isset($qs['category_name'])) {
		$qs = array_merge($qs, array('post_type' => array('post', 'page', 'rezept', 'foodlexikon')));
	}
	return $qs;
}
add_filter('request', 'custom_request');

    But if this used to put the CPT “articles” into the slider, why doesn’t it work anymore after the Theme update?

    After further testing, @d4z_c0nf and I couldn’t spot any problems that could have been introduced by recent changes on the way featured posts are displayed, and even when using a custom code to display CPT as featured posts.
