I’ve just updated my blog to the newest WP version and my featured links slider has disappeared. When I try to edit the ‘Customize’ tab, it shows my featured links. I’ve checked on various laptops, gone incognito, cleared browser history etc. Any ideas?

    Hi there,

This is because a plugin or theme is using some older code, and although it worked in previous versions, this was because WordPress included a tool called “jquery-migrate”, that would let old code run.

In WordPress version 5.5, this was no longer enabled by default, you can temporarily enable it by using the Enable jQuery migrate helper plugin, but please take note that this is only a temporary solution, and will not work for future updates, so the plugins and/or theme that is using older code will need to be updated, or replaced (your site uses a minify tool, so I can’t say specifically what is causing this for you).

    Hi,

Probably your hosting has separate cache on all client accounts – please ask them to clear cache and after that clear all your WordPress cache (if you have any cache plugin installed) and all be fine then.

We have tested this case and did not notice any similar issues.

    Kind Regards,

By the way, it might be you have set the customizer changes to be in the draft & not published, you need to publish it and all be fine then, see image below
