it seems that FedEx Live Rates stopped sending dimensions today. As a result, the customer ship estimates are 1/3 of the actual cost.

Live Rates returned an estimate of $25.51
FedEx.com returned an estimate of $66.87

Please help us get FedEx Live Rates working again.

    Hi @ffmead4,
Our Live Rates for FedEx Free plugin, by default, sends package weight in the API request only.
If you want the shipping rates on Fedex.com to match the ones in Your store, then please enter the weight of the package without dimensions on Fedex.com as well.

The other option is to use our FedEx PRO version which allows You to send dimensions along with a package weight in the API request.

Let me know if You have any more questions.

    Kind regards,
    Wojtek

    Thank you for following up.

I needed to think about your options before I replied. We want the correct ship estimate from FedEx so the customer pays for the cost of shipping. The ship estimate shown in the cart and at checkout should be similar so that we generally collect the correct amount for the shipping cost. FedEx measures and weighs boxes and adjusts shipping costs higher - dimensional cost generally higher than weight cost. The reference to matching is a note that using the FedEx Live Rates plugin returned ship estimates that didn't match the actual ship cost, nor are they similar.

I read through all the info on the Free and Pro version and I didn't see dimensions referenced. I assumed, big mistake, that since dimensions were mentioned in the pro version, or free, that they must be included in the free version. Dimensions should be noted in the pro version because that is important to people that use their own packaging.

Through some more research I found a free plugin that sends weights and dimensions for the correct ship rate estimate.

I am sorry for wasting your time.
