• Hi,

I am considering using WordPress for a project I have had in mind for sometime and I would like to know if it is possible and how to go about setting it up. Basically I would like to take a number of different RSS and XML feeds and aggregate them as the posts in the blog.

I would then like to edit this material- which mostly will involve deleting items I don’t want, but I would also like to be able to add new custom fields.

Then I would like to re-publish this as a new feed- but this part is no big deal because that is what blogs do anyway.

What is the best way do go about this? I know there are a number of plugins on the syndication page that look like they do something close to this, but does one stand out above the rest? What about the custom fields? Any thoughts on how to approach this would be appreciated.

Does anyone have any idea on this? The best tool for feed aggregation and editing/syndication? I know this must be a common issue/application, and have been reading some of the older threads. The most common solution seems to be FeedWordPress, however when I go to RadGeek’s site to download it I get a time out message- maybe his server is down. lhttps://projects.radgeek.com/feedwordpress

Is there another place to download this, and are there other plugins I should be looking at?

    Thanks

OK, the next thing I have tried is BDP RSS Aggregator. It seems to be a very sophisticated tool, but from reading the documentation, it seems the feeds can only be in a sidebar or an special page- not in the blog itself. (if I am not correct about this, please let me know).

Again, I would like to have the output from several feeds go into the regular WordPress draft posts, where I could edit or delete, and categorize them, and the re-publish (please no lecture on copyrights that have killed other threads on this topic- I have permission to use this material). Does anyone know how to do this- or at least what plugin would work best? This MUST be a common request.
