Greetings — I’ve installed/activated your plugin and all seems to work fine…in a Mailchimp RSS vs. regular campaign (i.e., with RSS merge vs. feedblock merge tags).

Problem is, I’d like to use a regular campaign in MailChimp, for a variety of reasons. I’ve confirmed that the RSS merge tags (RSSFEED/RSSITEM/etc.) don’t work in a regular campaign; for some reason they are not even recognized as merge tags, and simply display as HTML. (I’ve entered RSS merge code into both text and code boxes, to no avail.)

I’ve also attempted to use the *|FEEDITEM:IMAGE|* merge tag, which also didn’t work in the regular campaign template. (And I deactivated/reactivated Photon, following this recent thread…Photon is not an issue here, I’ve confirmed.)

Can anyone confirm that in fact the feedblock merge codes used in a MailChimp regular campaign do not support images in WordPress feeds?

    Sure appreciate,

    Jim P.

This plugin does not add any tags to the RSS feed–the *|FEEDITEM:IMAGE|* tag is pulling information from the media:content RSS tag, so to use that merge tag, you would have to add it another way.

If you can use a feedblock tag in a regular campaign, which content tag are you using? Make sure it’s the *|FEEDITEM:CONTENT_FULL|* and not *|FEEDITEM:CONTENT|* or *|FEEDITEM:CONTENT_FULL_TEXT|*, as those are text only merge tags (the *|FEEDITEM:CONTENT|* may be an exception if you add the featured image to the excerpt in your feed, but I would have to experiment to be sure).

If that is not enough to get you started, it would be helpful to have a link to the RSS feed in question, and probably the relevant parts of your MailChimp template.

Alas, you have found my silly mistake: I indeed did not use *|FEEDITEM:CONTENT_FULL|*.

    All is now fixed!

Fantastic–glad to hear it, and thank you for letting me know.
