We are using WP RSS Aggregator to bring HubSpot blog posts to the bottom of the page here: https://www.info-pro.com. This is a new site (live March 2020). The plugin was working on the test site without issue (https://www.infopro.testmzltd.com), but either at transfer or some time after, the plugin stopped pulling new feed items.

The error is “Failed to fetch the RSS feed. Error: cURL error 6. Could not resolve host: go.info-pro.com”

    The feed is valid (https://go.info-pro.com/blog/rss.xml)

Forcing the feed does not do anything to resolve it.

Other feeds DO pull items (https://blog.mzltd.com/rss.xml)

Installing the plugin on another site with the same host (SiteGround) DOES pull items from the feed.

We have set up https://rsstest.info-pro.com/ to troubleshoot. The host is SiteGround and DNS is Amazon Route 53. Info-Pro.com has a 301 to www in SiteGround, but the rsstest subdomain does not.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • I’m able to import all 10 items from the affected RSS feed on a test machine.

Could you please check with your host if they are applying any firewall restrictions that prevent the feed from fetching?

Do let us know their feedback.

The resolution came from contacting the host. This site has an external DNS, so I did not expect this issue, but a CNAME record added in the host DNS for the subdomain of the feed caused it to resolve.

We have other sites where the blog subdomain is setup in external DNS only and it works, so I don’t know why it happened this way, but a good thing to keep in mind.

I hope this helps someone else in the future!

Thanks @psblend for sharing the information. I appreciate it.

This will definitely help anyone facing a similar issue.
