    Hi,
I’ve used Seriously Simple Podcasting version 1.20.13 on WP 5.4.12 with PHP7.2 quite a while now and it’s still working fine.
But we are about to upgrade to WP6 and PHP8, so I’ve set up a new test environment.
Began with update to WP 6.1.1 and it went great – everything still works with SSP 1.20
But when I update to SSP 2.19.0 all my old episodes disappear from my feed. – I’ve tried viewing both the default feed and the series-specific feed, but no episodes will show.
If I create a new episode when using 2.19, the new episode appears in the feed, but not the old. I’ve tried updating the fields in my old episodes and unpublish them and publish them again but that doesn’t help.
I’ve enabled debug mode on WP and checked the logs, but no errors are generated.
When I downgraded to 1.20, all episodes, including the new test-episode I created, is in the feed again.
I was thinking of just staying with SSP 1.20, but then comes the PHP8-update – and 1.20 crashes the whole site when used on PHP8. ??

Do you have any idea why my old episodes won’t show up when I update from 1.20 to 2.19? And any suggestions on what I can do to fix this problem?

  • Just wanted to add that I am running into the same problem. I tried reverting back as far as 2.14.0 and it’s still broken. I’m guessing this is database related, not code related. Otherwise going back to the old code would have fixed it.

    Hi @tissemon @treminaor

Do your old episodes disappear only from the feed? Can you still see them in the admin dashboard?

Hi! Sorry for the late reply.

All episodes – new and old – were visible on the admin dashboard.

I managed to solve the issue on my own at last – I used an old version of the theme Impreza as a child theme. I updated Impreza but it still wouldn’t work. But when I disabled my child theme it all worked, so I’m good now!

At first, after the update, the feed-validator said that my cover image was missing, but after just selecting the image again in admin console the validation went through with no errors.

    Hi @tissemon!

Cool, glad you managed to solve it on your own. Enjoy the latest version ??
