I just realised, that I get an error message from my Brwoser (Safari 5) that the feed contains too many redirections and thus cannot be displayed.

This may help someone. I cannot find a solution though ??

The fact that your feed is causing too many redirects is most likely because you have another plugin interfering with the feed. SSP does not do any redirects on the feed, so none of that is originating in this plugin. I would recommend that you disable all of your other plugins to see if there is a plugin conflict – you can the reactivate them one by one to see which one is causing the issue. If you have any other podcasting plugins installed then that will most certainly be the culprit.

To answer your question as to why I don’t use the default feed at /podcast/feed – this is because a podcast feed requires a lot of extra meta fields that you don’t find in a standard RSS feed and WordPress’ default is not extensible enough to be able to handle the adding of those fields.

    Hi Hugh,

thanks for the reply. Of course I disabled all my plug-ins, that was my first attempt to find a solution before I even posted here. My bad I didn’t mention it.

    Unfortunately this didn’t do anything…

Is it possible that the plug-in is conflicting with the theme? Where shall I look for possible conflicts?

What puzzles me is that I used to work and then just stopped for no reason…

@econore have you tried re-saving your permalinks in Settings >> Permalinks? Maybe that would help.

@bmghdz9k Thanks for the hint! Yeah, I tried re-saving my permalinks already, as this is often the solution to odd problems. And I tried it before and after activating the plug-ins. Unfortunately with no effect.

Does anyone think it may be a solution to re-install the plug-in?
Do I need to set up everything from scratch?
Will my podcast posts be saved?
I hesitate to de-install the plug-in for these reasons.

Uninstalling the plugin won’t lose any of your data – your episodes and settings are all stored in the database. You are welcome to delete the plugin and reinstall it, but I can’t promise that it will fix your problem.

Unfortunately, I don’t know how to fix your problem because there is nothing in SSP that would be causing any redirects.

    Ok, thanks anyway.
Good to know that SSP isn’t causing any redirects.

Does anyone know how I could track the redirects? So this may give me a hint where the problem may be?

    thanks
