I am using this very nice plugin to display in a sidebar widget some upcoming events from another site’s calendar. But the feed seems to be processed from the bottom up–if I set the shortcode’s orderby to “default”, the item with the published date farthest away from today is at the top of the list in the widget. If I set the orderby to “date_reverse” it works, but only if I am displaying all 10 items in the feed.

At the moment, the feed itself (create.coloradovirtuallibrary.org/calendar/feed) contains 10 items in order of date published:

    • 22 Aug
    • 27 Aug
    • 29 Aug
    • 03 Sep
    • 10 Sep
    • 17 Sep
    • 19 Sep
    • 24 Sep
    • 04 Nov
    • 06 Nov

If I set the shortcode to display 5 items (which is what I want) in date_reverse order, it displays these events:

    • 17 Sep
    • 19 Sep
    • 24 Sep
    • 04 Nov
    • 06 Nov

But what I want is for it to display the five events beginning with the one at the top of the feed, on 22 Aug.

I’ve gotten around this for the moment by choosing to display all 10 items in date_reverse order, and restricting the height of the widget with CSS. But how can I just display 5 items in the proper order?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello,

Looks like you found a bug with the default ordering for single feeds. Please update to version 1.4.3 and set the date to default. You may need to clear your site cache but this will fix your issue.
