    Hi there

I’ve a series of 10 rss feeds adding multilingual content to a central site. Feed items with accented characters in the title appear on the Edit Feed Source page in the “Feed Preview” section, but never appear on the Feed Sources page listing of “Imported items”.

This is the case for all feed items from some sites where their titles have accented (non-ASCII) characters, and only those items.

Only one site (an Icelandic one) is not affected.

    Any ideas?

Hi there, can you send me some of the RSS feeds that are doing this for you? This will allow me to test them out on my test site to see what’s going on.

Is the plugin not importing ANY items whatsoever for these feeds, or is it that the title’s characters are appearing incorrectly?

    Thanks.

Hi there, Mark. Thanks for your help!

    Here’s the aggregated page:
    https://oiiinternational.com

    Source sites:
    https://www.intersexioni.it/feed/atom
    https://www.genrespluriels.be/?feed=rss
    https://oiifrancophonie.org/?feed=rss
    https://intersexualite.de/?feed=rss

The first two are missing feed items on the aggregation page, coincidentally ones where there are accented characters in the title text. All recent feed items show in “Feed Preview” on the plugin “Feed Sources > Edit Feed Source” page.

(I pull the latest 3 items onto the aggregation page).

Hi Morgan, the issue here seems to be an encoding issue with the PHP version you have on your server, due to which these characters are causing an issue while creating posts.

When I tested the feed sources on my test site all the feed items were imported normally.

Please get in touch with your web host and explain the encoding issue you are facing on your server, and they should be able to help you out.
