    Jim, dismissing the error will inactivate the feed. (If you’ve already done this, you can quickly change the status of feeds in the Subscribed Feeds panel using the bulk actions option.) Feed alerts are posted when PF tries to retrieve and is prevented from doing so (by a slow server, etc). You can change how many times this has to happen before you get an alert under the site options tab on the preferences panel. If you make the “number of errors before a feed is marked as malfunctioning” very high (keeping in mind that PF is set to retrieve every half hour), then the problem will really have to be sustained before you’ll get a feed alert. We keep ours set at 50, so that the problem has to persist for longer than a day to warrant an alert.
