• Hey Paul!

This is a great plugin, I love that review summaries can be called upon from anywhere regarding any post! This allows me to tether two different webpages under the same review – excellent ??

I’d like to provide a little feedback however, and hopefully these are things you may already be working on?

#1 – Ajax update. Upon review submission, it would be nice if the review was added to the review summary using ajax, or at the very least (since the summary and form are separate shortcodes) a clearer demonstration that the review has been submitted so that users don’t double-submit.

#2 – Allow anyone to mark reviews as ‘helpful’.

#3 – Allow half star reviews (i.e, 4.5 star rating).

It would be great to know if you plan on implementing these features in future updates?

    Kind Regards,
    – D

    1. Site Reviews v5.0 will provide default styling for the submission messages which will be more noticeable.

    2. see: https://github.com/pryley/site-reviews/blob/develop/ROADMAP.md

    3. I don’t think this will be implemented. Can you provide a good argument for this, as well as provide a few examples of major companies/services that allow half-stars in their review rating?

#1 – Very exciting! I look forward to 5.0. I’m very impressed with the code and functionality that this plugin has to offer so I don’t doubt version 5 is going to be epic!

#2 – I did see your roadmap, but it’s not very clear on what is currently being prioritised or any vague idea on when we might expect the updates.

#3 – That’s totally cool, you are right, I don’t have any examples. However, it would be great if this was consistent throughout your plugin. For example, your screen-reader-text in the reviews shortcode-site-reviews says “n.n rating”. Why the decimal place if it’s not possible for users to half rate anyways? The only necessity for a decimal place would be in the shortcode-site-reviews-summary. I mention this because, as I’ve requested in a different support thread, I’d like to display the ratings numbers without the decimal places (since they’ll always be n.0 anyways). See image: https://imgur.com/QTFE8P9 – this is an example from the shortcode-site-reviews. The decimal will always be .0. I suspect the decimal exists though because you’re using the same number %s across all the shortcodes. But your advise or response to this would be appreciated!

#2 This is purposeful as Site Reviews is a plugin developed in my free time so I cannot make commitments to any features or deadlines. Once the add-ons are released, it is hoped that their purchases will sustain the continued development and improvement of Site Reviews and will allow me to commit more time to it.

#3 The rating/stars.php template is used for each review and for the summary. This is why the screen-reader-text rating has a decimal point as the summary displays the average rating which likely will include a decimal point.
