I was trying out the plugin.
Here are the parts that can be improved:
    – Blocking IP did not actually block the IP from making a request. I kept seeing new requests from the IP address and every time there was a new request, the unBlock IP button would become Block. Maybe I did not properly installed/configured the firewall. I expected that clicking on the block IP will tell me that it has failed to apply the requested rule.
    – Uninstalling the plugin left files. I planned to manually go and delete them but I got the website running into 500 error. I found Wordfence Assistant plugin and used it to remove the extra files. It will be useful to ask me to remove the extra data on uninstall and at least let me know that something is left both on the filesystem and in the database.

I liked the 2fa feature the most. Users might benefit if it is easier to find.

Hi @yaniiliev, thanks for your feedback and glad you enjoyed 2FA and other Wordfence features.

An IP will be blocked for the duration you have specified under Wordfence > All Options > Rate Limiting Rules > How long is an IP address blocked when it breaks a rule or Wordfence > All Options > Brute Force Protection > Amount of time a user is locked out, so you may notice these values might be too lenient and allowing retries once the block has been lifted. You can increase this value to hours or even days to try stemming this flow if you’re noticing a lot of heavy activity.

Wordfence, as an endpoint firewall cannot stop a bot or human from trying to visit your website altogether, much in the way anybody can type your URL into a browser, but rather deal with those visits appropriately when they happen – which is looked like Wordfence was doing.

When removing Wordfence, select “Delete Login Security tables and data on deactivation” in Wordfence > Login Security > Settings and “Delete Wordfence tables and data on deactivation” in Wordfence > Tools > Import/Export Options. Then deactivate Wordfence, making sure to flush/clear the cache on any caching plugins you have installed on your WordPress installation afterwards.

Should the uninstall fail to remove everything, the Wordfence Assistant as you tried, or the manual plugin removal process as highlighted in the following guide would be useful to you: https://www.wordfence.com/help/advanced/remove-or-reset/

    Thanks,

    Peter.
