• Hey guys,

I’m just looking for some feedback on my first WordPress plugin called Sharebar. Any criticism, suggestions or general feedback would be highly appreciated! (on the plugin or the actual PHP code)

    Thanks!

  • I tried to install it but was greeted with the following error:

    in 3.0-RC3
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in ...\wp-content\plugins\sharebar\sharebar.php on line 157

    and in 2.9.2
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in ...\wp-content\plugins\sharebar\sharebar.php on line 157

Did you try to install it on your local machine? A couple of others reported that problem using various Windows Apache solutions, though I wasn’t able to reproduce it using XAMP. I’ll try to find out more about it but the PHP itself should be fine.

    Yes, xampplite on Windows XP.

I tried this plugin out of many sharing plugins I have installed before. Manually inserting the vertical plugin worked but the horizontal one didnt. It only works for me when I dont need to insert it manually and I’m not sure why it does that… thought I’d share tho.

Only shows on individual post pages but not on home pages. And yes, the settings are correct.

It’s awesome! It is definitely going to be permanently implemented on my website. Great job! (this was the only one I could find that would automatically put the bar to the right of the post – most only do the left)

I just found out that your plugin doesn’t work when Custom Contact Forms plugin is active (i’m using WP 3.0.3).
Nothing too much, just sharing the found.-
