Feedburner: changing domain and platform
-
Hi all! I am in the process of moving my blog from blogger to wordpress. I am having a bit of a feedburner issue and the feedburner forums leave a bit to be desired.
In August, I bought my domain and dropped the “.blogspot” from my url. Now I am just moving to self hosted on wordpress. I saw that my feedburner original feed still had the blogspot though it has been working fine.
My question – how can I change my original feed so there will be no problems when I make the switch? I have nearly 150 subscribers and don’t want to lose them in transition. Here’s the text from my feedburner forum query:
I purchased my own domain name through blogger this summer
(rediscoveringdomesticity.com) to drop the .blogspot. I did nothing
in feedburner and everything kept working fine. Well, I am switching
to self hosted wordpress. My original feed still has my .blogspot
address in it. I tried to change it to remove the .blogspot but I get
an error message stating that there is no xml file. I tried pinging
and got this message: Your Ping resulted in an Error “We were unable
to process your ping. You must ping with a URL that exactly matches
the channel link (RSS) or alternate link (Atom) in your top level feed
element pointing back to your website (e.g https://myblog.blogspot.com/),
or use your feed URL (e.g. https://feeds.feedburner.com/myuri).”
If I leave the .blogspot, will my feed stay intact after I leave
blogger?Thanks so much!
