  • Hi Ankit,

Right now, https://hindi.news24online.com/feed/gn appears to be working okay. Did you change something or am I misunderstanding you?

    Hi Chris,

I have also posted this in the Google publisher center community. Yes, the feed is working pretty fine for you, for us but not for Google. I had a word with Google news support team they said the feeds have these following issues:

`We request you to add the required tags correctly as per the requirements mentioned in our guidelines. Also, we noticed that you are using both <description> and <content:encoded> tags in the feed URL of the publications. Instead, we suggest that you use any one of the tags. If both <content:encoded> and <description> tags are present in the feed, Google News drops the tag with the least number of characters.

Also, there are few requirements which need to be followed while adding the image to your content, they are:

The images should be a minimum of 800 px on a side.
The hero image encoding should be done using the <img> tag and the attribute class should be: <img class=”type:primaryImage”>`

I replied to the Google team that the feeds already have this type:primaryImage tag in the feeds . Google Team said they have escalated the issue to the relevant team. God knows when they will fix the issue.

Latest Update (30 July, 12:27 PM GMT): I have removed all the feeds and then added again now it is not showing any content. All the sections are blank.

    Here is the publication URL:
    https://news.google.com/publications/CAAqBwgKMOSwkwswkeOoAw

    Ugh…

Also, we noticed that you are using both <description> and <content:encoded> tags in the feed URL of the publications. Instead, we suggest that you use any one of the tags. If both <content:encoded> and <description> tags are present in the feed, Google News drops the tag with the least number of characters.

So… the description tag is included to avoid validation errors/warnings, and they are correct, the one with the least characters (the description) is dropped.. so there’s no problem there. I don’t know why they keep telling people that it’s a problem, but I will contact Google News again and ask them to fix that.

I am confused about the 301 error though. I’ve never seen that error in the Publisher Center. Can you attach or send me a screenshot of what you are seeing?

    Hi Chris,

It was previously showing 301 redirection but when you asked me to delete and add all the feeds again now it is showing empty section.

    Please see.

Okay, the feeds are validated and are being crawled okay.

In your Publisher Center, your preview pane is working, which is proof that you have things set up correctly.

I think this is an issue on Google’s end. I’ve seen a number of publishers complain about this and I’ve escalated the issue to Google News.

I will remind them again this is an ongoing issue and use your site as another example, if that is okay with you,
