Feeds not posting?

I’m a brand new purchaser and am really hopeful your product will take care of my needs.

2 questions:

1) when feeds are imported, are they saved in ‘draft’ status? I really hope this is the case;

2) For me, I seem to be missing something. As a test I input 2 feeds, assigned them categories, set all the attribution settings, and waited. Checking my ‘pending’ files I saw no stories from the feed. In the ‘imported feeds’ tab I see stories, and it says they’re all published (but they aren’t yet published or in draft form) and my only option is ‘trash’.

What am I missing?
