I just updated to the new version and now, when I put an ISBN number into the Fetch box, it just reloads the page and tells me the review has been updated–but no information returns. It was working fine before this update and I haven’t made any other changes.

Hey! I’m having a weird fetch issue that I don’t know if it’s the plugin or my server. Fetch was working, but then it started to hang up — almost like it’s stalled. The ISBN pulls the title and series number, but then nothing else.

Yeah, that happens at times. It usually happens when the data source doesn’t have a complete set of information for the requested book.

    Email me the ISBN

Should that happen with Goodreads though? I can see the info on their site. The ISBN: 9780060875220

Yep! Goodreads is the worst API I’ve come across. Some books will miss key pieces of information for 1 book, while that piece of information is available in every other book. The only thing Gr has going for it is that it is large. The Google Book’s API is more well built and structured but it is not as large.

In your case the book description is set to null in the API, even though the book has a description on the Gr website. Usually the information is guaranteed to be there, sometimes though it is an empty string. Here is first time I am coming across it as being null, so I didn’t account for that.

I will add a check for null values in the next update. In the mean time I suggest you manually enter the data for this book.

I’ve switched over to Google API for the moment. It picked up those two books I was looking for anyway. I appreciate your help ??
