    Hi,

So I have just been figuring out how to use this plugin properly. So dar it shows real promise but I have a couple of issues:

1 – The plugin seems to reference the price list for the ‘in store’ prices seen here:

(link removed as topic bounced as spam, prices for RM can be found on their website under two separate categories for in store and online)

However when purchasing online via ‘click and drop’ the prices are lower, as seen here:

(link removed as topic bounced as spam, prices for RM can be found on their website under two separate categories for in store and online)

Not sure if this is a free/pro limitation, I am considering the pro plugin but just checking out the free one for now.

2 – For international rates the plugin seems to live by the rule stated in this documentation:

(link removed as topic bounced as spam, international prices also on RM website for both in store and online)

Which states that the international small parcels must be less than -Length: 45cm Width: 35cm Depth: 16cm.

However the actual RM click and drop website elaborates on this rule:

Small parcel – Maximum size: No one dimension can exceed 60cm

Length + width + depth must be no more than 90cm

This is a much more flexible rule and the current set up is preventing me from getting correct shipping rates, or allowing them to in fact show at all.

Lastly – the plugin does not seem to be correctly reading my products dimensions, they are correctly set in the product settings but when using debug mode I can see that it is using the size settings from the default size settings in the shipping zone. It seems to get the weight correct, but not the dimensions.

Also the debug mode seems not to work that often, sometimes it does, I’m not sure what prevents it from working.

    Hi @dyevans

Thank you for getting in touch. Please find my answers below:
    1. Currently, our plugin uses ‘in-store’ prices and it doesn’t allow switching to ‘click and drop’ pricing. However, this is a valid insight so I’ll record it as a feature request for future development – thank you for sharing it.

    2. We based our plugin logic on the documentation provided by the Royal Mail. However, the problem signaled by you needs further investigation. I’m adding this for review on our side.

    3. Free version of the plugin doesn’t read dimensions of products, it uses default ones provided in shipping method settings. The packing algorithm is available in the PRO version, however, I can’t discuss details of the paid plugin here.

When it comes to debug mode there may be a variety of reasons why it doesn’t show up. For a start switch to Storefront theme and see if the problem persists.

    Kind regards,
    Greg

    Hi, thanks for the reply,

Would definitely be a good idea to have the click and drop pricing, as I imagine that’s what most people using this plugin will be using.

I do find the limitation for the free version to be a little odd. If the only package size that is allowed is the one in the settings it kinda stops the plugin working all together.

either way, it would be good to just have that part greyed out in the free version to prevent the confusion!

Thank you for the reply and your suggestions.

Regarding the box size, the thought behind this is that it allows shop owner to set box dimensions used for shipping. They’re used to calculate the rates based on Royal Mail shipping.

I’m leaving this thread open for now in case you would like to ask any other question.
