Great plugin, straight forward, and does what I need it to do. However, is there a way without modifying your plugin to set the field display order, ex: parameters within the shortcode, or a setting at the back end I’m missing?

Where the ‘Post Tags’ field is showing up on the form (between Post Title and Post Category) is really bothering me. I would rather have it after the ‘Post Content’ before the ‘Upload’ field.

If not, would you be able to respond with a functions.php script to do this and/or make this a feature in a future plugin update?

Hopefully I would not have to go with the ‘pro’ version just to sort the fields being displayed, as I don’t really need anything else.

The only way to do it with the free version is to use the custom form option, which would enable you or a developer to rearrange the fields as desired. You can find complete steps to set up the custom form on the Installation tab:

    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/user-submitted-posts/#installation

Look for the section on “Custom Submission Form” for infos.

Let me know if I can provide any further infos, glad to help however possible.

Thank you for the quick response.

However, it sounds like the only option is to copy and modify the plugin. This is what I really wanted to avoid, even though technically I’m not modifying the original plugin, the modified version would not be updated if there were future security patches, etc.

I was hoping for a way to do this using a filter (functions.php).

Having ‘Post Tags’ in the right place would be nice to have, however not critical. I guess (to satisfy my OCD) I could always disable that field if it bothers me too much.

Thanks again for the plugin and support, hopefully, you will consider this as an option in the future.

No not at all. If you read thru the steps you will notice that the custom form is stored in your theme or child theme directory. So any changes to the form will not be overwritten when the plugin is updated. Let me know if any questions about this.
