Hi Simon. I have the options selected for “send user role” and “send user website” to Intercom, but do I have to create a new field in Intercom to capture that data? It looks like Intercom is capturing the “role” in a new field called “role” (not their primary Role attribute), but I can’t seem to find the website data being passed. Is there a default field created inside Intercom for that?

thanks in advance. Love the plugin.

    Hi

The role and website fields don’t require any extra setup in Intercom.

However, they are a bit hidden in the Intercom interface. If you view an individual user in Intercom, then on the left under ‘Account’ you should see a downward arrow. Click this and the role and website are down at the very bottom of the list.

If you are on the ‘All users’ screen, you can also click the ‘Displayed user attributes’ icon (near the top right) and add columns for the role and/or website.

Let me know if that helps,
    Simon

Hi Simon. That’s why I wrote in. Because it’s NOT there. I found Role – but not website. It’s no where to be found. Any other ideas?

That’s odd, it’s definitely there on my two test sites.

I know this might sound like a ridiculously obvious question, but does the user definitely have their website specified when you view them on the user edit page in WordPress?

    Hi Simon,

Quick background. This is a multi-site envinronment. But, if you’re referring to the Network Admin User page (showing Name, email, registered status and site(s)) – yes, it is showing.

I’m happy to give you permission to check it out if you like. It’s very bizarre to me as well. And it’s a critical piece of information for me.

    thanks!

    Hi Parnell

I’ll mark this as resolved as we’ve agreed the plugin is working correctly. We’ll continue on Codeable with your customisations.

    All the best
    Simon
