Field not populating after Paypal submit

I have a custom field that populates on a post once a form is submitted. I need to collect payment before the post is created so I enabled the “post only when payment is received” option in the Paypal integration for gravity forms. After the form was submitted and payment received the post was created but the custom field did not populate. Is there something wrong that could be preventing this field to be populated with that paypal feature enabled? The custom field was populating fine before this feature was enabled.
